Turkey Satay and Cajun Special, August 2013

Hello!  We’ll be doing a Turkey Satay and Rice “take out” for our Wednesday special (feeds 4 people (approximately 1/2 pound of turkey per person)- has a wonderfully flavorful marinade – with soy sauce, peanut butter and homemade curry – with aromatic basmati rice) – $25.  Please order the Wednesday “take out” special by Tuesday night and the Shabbos Special by Wednesday.
Shabbos Cajun Special for $15 a portion:

Appetizer

  • Jalapeno Poppers – jalapeno with sweet peanut butter -baked. (Not as spicy as it sounds, and it is really very wonderful – you are supposed to eat the whole pepper at once, so that the the peanut butter cools down the pepper while you eat it).

Fish Course:

  • Cajun Baked Gefilte Fish (for $2 a portion – in a cajun tomato based sauce)

Main Course:

  • Cajun Sloppy Joes (approximately 1/2 pound meat per portion)
  • or Cajun Chicken

Side Dishes (you can pick 2):

  • Red Beans and Rice
  • Smothered Corn (Maque Choux)
  • Bourbon sweet potatoes (these are *delicious*)

Dessert: For an additional $4 a serving you can have:

  • Pecan Pie (with chocolate)

For orders over $75 and in the eruv, there is free delivery.  For orders under $75 there is a $5 delivery charge or you can pick up.

  1. Jeffrey, you are soooo right! I am from the BR, LA area now living in L.A. I found The NO Cafe shlreey by accident while walking to a show at the comedy club around the corner. Even though the cafe was already closed I was invited in when they saw me reading the menu posted in the window. I met the owner Cassandra, who is AMAZING! We chat a bit and she even invited me to stop by again after the comedy show, which I did. We chat and laughed a long time together and I got to sample some of her fabulous cooking! I actually got to buy a take-home portion of her red beans and rice, simply the best anywhere outside of my grandma’s kitchen in La.! I gave her a big box of Mardi Gras decorations for the place just happened to be carrying them in my car that day. Can’t wait to go back! Truly amazing people there and really amazing food! I am part of a group of NOLA Saints’ fans that gather every game weekend out here in the Valley, and I am always recommending The NO Cafe to all of them! Come join us!
